Albireo380 (Still Owned)Added: Saturday 7th of July 2007 02:58:44 PM An excellent all round SCT. Easy to set up. Simply point the OTA North and switch on. Enter your Lat & Long, date and time. Then do a one, two or three star align from a menu of about 60 named stars. Takes about two minutes. Once aligned the GOTO is accurate to about 20 arcminutes over a slew of 90 degrees or so. So easy to get DSOs in the FOV of a 20mm EP (focal length of SCT = 2000mm / f10). Seems quite happy pushing x300 magnification - even in poor conditions. I have used this 'scope for 3 years, over hundreds of hours and never had a problem with it. The build quality is reasonable and optically it is surprisingly good. The contrast is not as good as I would like - but it is an SCT, not an APO refractor. However, for a mixture of planetary and Deep Sky observing it is excellent. I have noticed some field curvature when imaging, but this can be minimised with a field flattener/focal reducer. An all round good performer. Tom Rating Scores
