Interest are Astronomy, photography, motor sport.astronomy has been my main interest for the past 8 years , learning the hard way from slr camera , to mintron camera , then on to the Toucam pro 2 for imaging the Planets, from there to long exposure , using the Atik2hs with my GPS 8, this was my big learning curve, all very hard work to achieve those images taken at that time , but more so learning the processing skills , which i am still learning, from there on to the big boys stuff , Atik 16hr mono , now things have moved on in leaps and bounds, far better imaging with this camera , a few more skills to learn , but well rewarding , and thankfully those processing skills i learnt, have made my images even better , so much so , have been featured in S&N mags about 4 times , and astronomy now 4 times as well , but my main feature is the books by tammy plotnor from the universe today, where she has used my images in not only the 2006 book but also 2007/8 and hopefully 2009 issue ,this is in conjucntion with Patrick Moores practical astronomy series , THE NIGHT COMPANION which will be published this October, so all in all i,m a happy bunny. |

The Dome

Time is passing fast now , and still no Dome , but we had a call today , to say the brackets that were made wrong are now on the way ,so hopefully this long awaited Dome will be finished by next weekend , this as you all know will give me a big boost to improve my imaging , with a permanent set up , i can hopefully get things more accurate for longer exposures, although i still have to convince myself that this will improve what i already do , we shall see, but at least i will be able to image when the wind blows ,and also block out those nasty back garden lights that appear bright every time a fox or cat gets close,so thats the update for me at the moment , to late for me at present for imaging, getting older ya know , cant stay up to late .
So please watch this space, for future dynamic images,
Ok things have moved on now ,and the Dome is finally finished, its been along hard time getting things sorted out ,everything is now set up , all polar aligned and drift align, scopes used perm are the C11 and the SKy watcher ED80 Equinox, have introduced Guiding by the way of PHD, this seems to be ok at the moment after getting various settings tweaked. also have bought myself another Atik filter wheel set up for narrow band imaging , this also has a 6NM High -Alpha filter , which hopefully will give even better results,so thats about it for now , just keep watching for hopefully ever improved images.
